If it be Your Will... Songs of Leonard Cohen
Cliff Le Jeune, Paul Simons and the Blue Engine String Quartet
Upcoming Events

The Blue Engine String Quartet has been performing to enthusiastic audiences in Atlantic Canada and have been frequently recorded in concert and in the studio by CBC Radio and TV. Always musical innovators, Blue Engine’s concerts are eagerly anticipated by both classical music lovers and those who appreciate their musical collaborations with many divers artists.

For their first CD, the quartet selected the musical show they developed with their colleague, Cliff Le Jeune, whom they met at the Charlottetown Summer Festival, and had arrangements created for them by local arranger, Christopher Palmer. Adrian Hoffman of CBC Radio 2 in Halifax became interested in the project, and agreed to record “If it be your will… Songs of Leonard Cohen” for “All the Best”. The quartet has now undertaken a lease-back arrangement with the CBC and produced their first CD, which was launched to high acclaim.

The show “If it be your will... Songs of Leonard Cohen” has been performed all over the Maritimes, in Ottawa and Hamilton. Parts of it were also performed for the Governor General of Canada Michaelle Jean at a private dinner party in Halifax where she was so taken with it that she invited the group to perform at a later date at her residence, Rideau Hall.

Leonard Cohen himself heard the disc and wrote to the group, “Dear Colleagues, Thank you for this sublime gift”.
